Review: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

Greetings bunnies !

Recently, I have been feeling I should have a more structured way of reviewing products so I've decided to do my reviews like this from now on. Also I'm reviewing this from a non-biased view, so no hard feelings please ~

First of all I have sensitive and dry skin, that's why I chose the Dream Fresh BB cream which is also in light.

So this BB cream comes in a small tube of 30ml. The Dream Fresh tube has pink B's however, the Dream Pure has blue B's which is for people with oily skin.

The product claims to be a gel-based formula that will enhance the skin with 8 benefits and will give you an 'instant fresh-faced glow without looking all made up'. The 8 benefits include:

1. Fresh, lightweight feel
2. Blurs imperfections
3. Enhances
4. Brightens
5. Hydrates all day
6. Visibly smoothes skin
7. Adjusts to skin tone
8. Oil free

Confirmation:

1. Fresh, lightweight feel

YES! The product feels very fresh and light on the skin which does give your skin a fresh-faced glow, so you won't look so cake-faced.

2. Blurs imperfections

. . . no. The product claims to be gel-based but it feels as if the formula is water-based because it is VERY water. So no it does not blur imperfections (for me).

3. Enhances

YES! The BB cream enhances the skin tone to give you a fresh-faced glow.

4. Brightens

. . . sort of(?) The formula was already in a light shade so I guess it did brighten my skin but not by very much.

5. Hydrates all day

I haven't tried the BB cream bare-faced before because I always use moisturiser so that moisturises my skin. But my face doesn't feel or look dry throughout the day.

6. Visibly smoothes skin

My skin is already smooth in the first place but if there's a pimple on my skin then no, it does not smooth out my pimple. The reason for this is because the formula is too watery(?) that it doesn't smooth out the bump.

7. Adjusts to skin tone

YES! Although it is a bit lighter than my skin tone it is still very similar and adjusts well so that it gives a natural finish.

8. Oil Free

YES! As I said, it seems to be water-based so it doesn't make my skin oily which can sometimes happen despite having dry skin. T_T

THE CONS

So the cons for this BB cream would be it's coverage. I was looking for a BB cream that would give at least a medium coverage but this BB cream has REAAALLY low coverage. When I use it to cover redness and even out my skin tone, the only thing it does is even out my skin tone but the redness stays. So the dark areas of course would show through.

Also I can't stand the smell . . . It smells very chemical pastey, almost like a clay smell. ;A; I don't want my face to smell like clay. But that's about it.

THE PROS

I prefer a light dewy look where my skin shines slightly. This gives a very fresh-faced look and this BB cream achieves that. It's very lightweight and not very thick so this avoids the cake-faced look which no one wants to have.

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Recommendation:

I would recommend if you:
- want a fresh-faced glow
- want little coverage
- want something lightweight
- want a dewy slightly shiny look
- have dry and dull skin
- have uneven skin tones

Hope this review helps ! I ended up writing a lot more than expected but this gives everyone a better idea of the product.

Review: Essence Stays On Matter What Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

Hello Helloooo Bunnies :)

So once again I haven't posted in a long time because I was sick ==
Sucks being me . . .

After recovering from my sickness, I decided WHY NOT WRITE ANOTHER REVIEW? HAHAHAHAH ^^

So this eyeliner is a felt tip eyeliner with a waterproof formula for longer wear in Midnight Black 01. If you are a beginner with makeup, you should go for this when starting on liquid eyeliners. This is because this eyeliner pen is really easy to apply for anyone. For me, however, I don't think I will EVER buy this eyeliner again because:

1. Residues . . .

I used this eyeliner for my yr 10 formal and after that night, I removed the eyeliner but found that it left blue residues on my eyelids and won't come off until the next day.

2. Timing

If you like to take your time drawing your eyeliner, then you probably shouldn't use this eyeliner pen. I tend to take my time building on my cat eyes and when I do this, the eyeliner pen runs out of the product and I have to close the lid and wait for a ridiculously long time for it to return. Also if you use it often, it will seem like you finished the product after a few days. For example I use it for a week, that means the last two days of the week I will have no product to use. ==

3. Oily eyelids

This gave me oily eyelids even though I used eyelid primer. Also whenever my eyelids get oily, the eyeliner always prints(?) another line onto my eyelid. So . . . T_T

That's pretty much it though . . .

The ONE thing I can say that I like about it is it's waterproofness (if that's a word . . .). I used it for an event and as I was crying, I was repeatedly wiping away my tears and I was expecting myself to look like I was crying black tears BUT I didn't. I checked the mirror and it was fine, no black smudging or anything. I WAS AMAZED O_O

Rating out of 5 would beeeee . . . 2 stars :/
Hope this review helps if you are intending on trying out this product.

Review: Elf Eyelid Primer

Haaaaiii,

Since I'm feeling a bit better, I shall write another review. This blog seems to be mostly on reviews . . . Oh wells, if it helps anyone then I shall keep writing reviews.

So if you do know what an eyelid primer is you can skip to the next paragraph, if you don't please keep reading because it will potentially help you! If you don't have an eyelid primer, then it should be on the top of the 'TO BUY' list ! Eyelid primers are applied on your eyelids to prep them. They help:

- The eyeshadow to stay in place
- No smudging
- Higher colour quality of the eyeliner (if that makes sense)

They should be applied on the areas like your:

- eyelids (duuuh)
- inner corners of your eyes
- under your eyes (just below the bottom lash line)

Review:

So the my Elf Eyelid Primer is in Sheer in number 7501. It's in a stick package with a spongy applicator.

It has a water-based formula which spreads well on the eyelids. You have to really blend it in with your fingers or else you can see the whiteness of the primer. My lids tend to get oily with other primers but the Elf Eyelid Primer, disallows my lids to get oily so that's a good thing.

Also by using the primer my eye makeup stays in place for longer and my eyeliner doesn't smudge onto my eyelids. It's also very easy to remove the makeup afterwards so that's a plus !

My rating for this primer would be 4.5 stars, because if you don't spend a bit of time to blend it in well, then you can see the primer. But it's pretty good :) Hope this review helps.

Comment if you have any questions or comments ^^

Review: Essence Liquid Ink Eyeliner

Hiyaaa bunnies :)

So not too long ago I bought an essence liquid eyeliner with a brush applicator. I bought this because I wanted to try out eyeliners with a brush applicator and I didn't want to spend too much and then I might regret using brush applicators so I purchased the Essence one because it was cheap.

It looks like this but the brush applicator is not THAT thin. It's actually thicker than that.

It's like this but mines thicker . . .

I don't like using this liquid liner because when I apply it, it makes a REALLY thick line and I tend to like the thinner and more natural look. Also the formula is really sticky and it takes a really long time to dry. So when I apply it, its thick and when I blink it's wet and sticky.

I really dislike using this for its formula and applicator. I have an Essence Eyeliner Pen that ran out so I just dip it into the brush applicator one.

Rating out of 5 would be a definite 1 star for like the colour. It only has a nice dark black colour and that's it.

Review: Bourjois Paris- Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara

Bunnies, helloooo

I don't know why but I felt bad for not blogging for like a few days so I decided to write three reviews today to make up for it . . .

So I recently got this mascara for my birthday and it was a brand that I have always wanted to try out but I never got to because no one used it or recommended it to me so . . . I SHALL be the one to recommend.

One of the things I like about this mascara is because it has a big opening so it's easier to replace the brush back . Other mascara tubes have smaller openings thus making the formula go around the edges making it REALLLY messy.

The formula is wetter than the Australis Lash TLC Mascara but it's more volumising and it makes your lashes longer. So that's a good thing. Because the formula and brush is made this way, this mascara is good for dramatic and intense looks.

If I wear this for work, I like to only use it for when I want to make my lashes the main focus. Like everything will look super natural but just my eyelashes would look dramatic.

When I first wore this, I thought it smelt nice but maybe I smelt it wrong or something. So I smelt it again and . . . it wasn't bad. It just had a sweet chemical smell that isn't too strong.

Another good thing about this mascara is it doesn't go flaky so I don't ever have to check for mascara flakes on my cheeks but it does tend to smudge onto the lower lash line so that was a bit of a downside.

Also it says it's waterproof but I haven't tested that out yet so I'm not really sure if it is waterproof or not. But I can DEFINITELY say it's SUPER easy to remove so that's also a good thing :)

Rating out of 5 would be . . . 3 stars.

I would recommend this mascara for a dramatic look :)

Review: Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner

Hello againnn :)

So this eyeliner- wasn't my first- but it was one of the ones on top of the 'TO BUY' list. It is a must-have thing in your makeup bag.

The one that I have is in Deep Black. They also have a brown one, I don't know what it's called but it has blue and brown packaging. This is a must-have product because:

A. It has a good black colour for that dramatic or natural look

Modelled/Designed by Tsubasa Masuwaka

B. It has a VERY (and I mean VERRY) fine tip- which is great for winging out the eyes

and C. It's super easy to wash and it doesn't smudge!! DOUBLE YAY!

I love using this for a simple and natural look because with the fine tip, I can draw the most natural line everrr! I love this sooo much! After watching one of Meejmuse's videos, she said it was a must-have so I decided to buy it. It's pretty pricey in the shops because they are mostly around $35 and over but I got mine online for $15. But because it is a must-have and it's really good I think it is worth it.

Rating out of 5 would be . . . . 4.5 stars :)

It lost point 5 of a mark because it was a bit pricey HAHA

Review: Australis Lash TLC Mascara

Ellloooo :)

I've been busy so I haven't been posting but this will be another review of a beauty product. I have only recently been starting to use this mascara because it was on sale...HAHA

But I think it's pretty good.

So I was rummaging through the sale boxes and this pink tube caught my eye and I was like 'Oooh what's this?' And I picked it up and it was mascara so I got it. I am a sucker for pretty/cute (in this case pretty) packaging.

The Australis Lash TLC Mascara has a curved brush for that curling effect but it didn't really curl my lashes. It just makes my lashes look more naturally curled. I don't know if that's a bad thing but it's good for me because when I curl my lashes they curl at 90 degrees so that's a good thing- for me.

The formula is thick so it gives volume to my lashes. The first coat gives my lashes a fuller but natural look and if you want a more dramatic effect then it'll look REAAALLY dramatic if you give your lashes a few coats.

If you're wandering if it's flaky then I guess it's a bit? Like sometimes when I wear it, it never goes flaky and fall on my cheeks but some days, I find a few flakes. But I guess overall it's fine.

It also is sort of clumpy if you layer it on but if you wiggle your brush while applying then it won't leave any clumps on your lashes. For me I like to do natural makeup when I'm at work but when I'm at a party or event, having on a lot of layers and making it a bit clumpy is fine. But for work, I want to keep it as natural as possible so I wiggle my brush. HAHAH Just wiggle your brush~

If this mascara was to be rated out of 5, I would probably give it a 3.5...
(The point 5 was given for the TLC part of the mascara...I don't know if it works or not but my lashes don't ever fall out)

Hope this helps xoxo

Review: Rimmel London's Matt 9 in 1 BB Cream

Helloo Bunnies,

If you didn't know, I have an interest in beauty so I'd like to share one of my favourite BB creams. So what I'm currently using is Rimmel London's Matt 9 in 1 BB Cream.

This BB cream has medium coverage which is good for a natural look that can also cover dark or red areas of your face. For me when using this BB cream I recommend using Maybelline's BB Cream in Dream Fresh or Dream Pure.

Dream Fresh is for normal or dry skin.

Dream Pure is for oily skin.

The reason for using Maybelline's BB cream before Rimmel's is because the Rimmel one can make your face look cakey. But after using Maybelline's BB Cream and then Rimmel's BB Cream, my skin looks flawless.

Anyways, I really like using this product because it has a light creamy texture that applies really well. You can use your fingers to apply it but I recently found that it is best used with a concealer brush. My concealer brush that I'm using is Nude's Concealer Brush.

This brush really blends out so that you get a flawless complexion.

And the good thing about it is...it has SPF 15! Remember to protect your skin from the sun! The only downside to it is, the product leaks out in the lid but you can always swipe it up with the concealer brush and ALL CLEAN! ^^

If this were to get a rating out of 5...I would give it a 4 :)
