Review: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

Greetings bunnies !

Recently, I have been feeling I should have a more structured way of reviewing products so I've decided to do my reviews like this from now on. Also I'm reviewing this from a non-biased view, so no hard feelings please ~

First of all I have sensitive and dry skin, that's why I chose the Dream Fresh BB cream which is also in light.

So this BB cream comes in a small tube of 30ml. The Dream Fresh tube has pink B's however, the Dream Pure has blue B's which is for people with oily skin.

The product claims to be a gel-based formula that will enhance the skin with 8 benefits and will give you an 'instant fresh-faced glow without looking all made up'. The 8 benefits include:

1. Fresh, lightweight feel
2. Blurs imperfections
3. Enhances
4. Brightens
5. Hydrates all day
6. Visibly smoothes skin
7. Adjusts to skin tone
8. Oil free

Confirmation:

1. Fresh, lightweight feel

YES! The product feels very fresh and light on the skin which does give your skin a fresh-faced glow, so you won't look so cake-faced.

2. Blurs imperfections

. . . no. The product claims to be gel-based but it feels as if the formula is water-based because it is VERY water. So no it does not blur imperfections (for me).

3. Enhances

YES! The BB cream enhances the skin tone to give you a fresh-faced glow.

4. Brightens

. . . sort of(?) The formula was already in a light shade so I guess it did brighten my skin but not by very much.

5. Hydrates all day

I haven't tried the BB cream bare-faced before because I always use moisturiser so that moisturises my skin. But my face doesn't feel or look dry throughout the day.

6. Visibly smoothes skin

My skin is already smooth in the first place but if there's a pimple on my skin then no, it does not smooth out my pimple. The reason for this is because the formula is too watery(?) that it doesn't smooth out the bump.

7. Adjusts to skin tone

YES! Although it is a bit lighter than my skin tone it is still very similar and adjusts well so that it gives a natural finish.

8. Oil Free

YES! As I said, it seems to be water-based so it doesn't make my skin oily which can sometimes happen despite having dry skin. T_T

THE CONS

So the cons for this BB cream would be it's coverage. I was looking for a BB cream that would give at least a medium coverage but this BB cream has REAAALLY low coverage. When I use it to cover redness and even out my skin tone, the only thing it does is even out my skin tone but the redness stays. So the dark areas of course would show through.

Also I can't stand the smell . . . It smells very chemical pastey, almost like a clay smell. ;A; I don't want my face to smell like clay. But that's about it.

THE PROS

I prefer a light dewy look where my skin shines slightly. This gives a very fresh-faced look and this BB cream achieves that. It's very lightweight and not very thick so this avoids the cake-faced look which no one wants to have.

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Recommendation:

I would recommend if you:
- want a fresh-faced glow
- want little coverage
- want something lightweight
- want a dewy slightly shiny look
- have dry and dull skin
- have uneven skin tones

Hope this review helps ! I ended up writing a lot more than expected but this gives everyone a better idea of the product.

Review: Essence Stays On Matter What Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

Hello Helloooo Bunnies :)

So once again I haven't posted in a long time because I was sick ==
Sucks being me . . .

After recovering from my sickness, I decided WHY NOT WRITE ANOTHER REVIEW? HAHAHAHAH ^^

So this eyeliner is a felt tip eyeliner with a waterproof formula for longer wear in Midnight Black 01. If you are a beginner with makeup, you should go for this when starting on liquid eyeliners. This is because this eyeliner pen is really easy to apply for anyone. For me, however, I don't think I will EVER buy this eyeliner again because:

1. Residues . . .

I used this eyeliner for my yr 10 formal and after that night, I removed the eyeliner but found that it left blue residues on my eyelids and won't come off until the next day.

2. Timing

If you like to take your time drawing your eyeliner, then you probably shouldn't use this eyeliner pen. I tend to take my time building on my cat eyes and when I do this, the eyeliner pen runs out of the product and I have to close the lid and wait for a ridiculously long time for it to return. Also if you use it often, it will seem like you finished the product after a few days. For example I use it for a week, that means the last two days of the week I will have no product to use. ==

3. Oily eyelids

This gave me oily eyelids even though I used eyelid primer. Also whenever my eyelids get oily, the eyeliner always prints(?) another line onto my eyelid. So . . . T_T

That's pretty much it though . . .

The ONE thing I can say that I like about it is it's waterproofness (if that's a word . . .). I used it for an event and as I was crying, I was repeatedly wiping away my tears and I was expecting myself to look like I was crying black tears BUT I didn't. I checked the mirror and it was fine, no black smudging or anything. I WAS AMAZED O_O

Rating out of 5 would beeeee . . . 2 stars :/
Hope this review helps if you are intending on trying out this product.

Ignored?

Hi bunnies :)

I found this story would be interesting to share so here goes . . .

So during class today, the teacher asked where a certain student (student X) was and I clearly stated that they were on an excursion. The teacher, however, didn't seem to hear me, sooo I shouted it quite a few times but she just kept asking the class T_T

Then another student (student Y) was telling the teacher how she didn't remember seeing that student X so I turned to student Y and repeated what I had told the teacher earlier. And did she hear me this time? NOOOOOOOO

Everyone ignored (?) me. The whole class were all talking in small voices and only the people next to me heard me. I clearly shouted it out. Then after five minutes, student Y shouted to the teacher that she thinks student X was on an excursion. =_=  *siiiiigh*

Review: Elf Eyelid Primer

Haaaaiii,

Since I'm feeling a bit better, I shall write another review. This blog seems to be mostly on reviews . . . Oh wells, if it helps anyone then I shall keep writing reviews.

So if you do know what an eyelid primer is you can skip to the next paragraph, if you don't please keep reading because it will potentially help you! If you don't have an eyelid primer, then it should be on the top of the 'TO BUY' list ! Eyelid primers are applied on your eyelids to prep them. They help:

- The eyeshadow to stay in place
- No smudging
- Higher colour quality of the eyeliner (if that makes sense)

They should be applied on the areas like your:

- eyelids (duuuh)
- inner corners of your eyes
- under your eyes (just below the bottom lash line)

Review:

So the my Elf Eyelid Primer is in Sheer in number 7501. It's in a stick package with a spongy applicator.

It has a water-based formula which spreads well on the eyelids. You have to really blend it in with your fingers or else you can see the whiteness of the primer. My lids tend to get oily with other primers but the Elf Eyelid Primer, disallows my lids to get oily so that's a good thing.

Also by using the primer my eye makeup stays in place for longer and my eyeliner doesn't smudge onto my eyelids. It's also very easy to remove the makeup afterwards so that's a plus !

My rating for this primer would be 4.5 stars, because if you don't spend a bit of time to blend it in well, then you can see the primer. But it's pretty good :) Hope this review helps.

Comment if you have any questions or comments ^^

Condition Update

Greeetings ^^

Good news ! I am finally feeling better ! WOOOO ~
My throat doesn't hurt anymore and my nose isn't runny either. I only cough (quite frequently) because my throat's itchy. The blood vessel that broke in my eye has spread to the pupil but it isn't blurring the sight or anything so that's fine. Hurrrayyy!

My voice is also better ! It's a little croaky and sounds like I have blocked nose, but at least I can actually talk~ :)

Review: Essence Liquid Ink Eyeliner

Hiyaaa bunnies :)

So not too long ago I bought an essence liquid eyeliner with a brush applicator. I bought this because I wanted to try out eyeliners with a brush applicator and I didn't want to spend too much and then I might regret using brush applicators so I purchased the Essence one because it was cheap.

It looks like this but the brush applicator is not THAT thin. It's actually thicker than that.

It's like this but mines thicker . . .

I don't like using this liquid liner because when I apply it, it makes a REALLY thick line and I tend to like the thinner and more natural look. Also the formula is really sticky and it takes a really long time to dry. So when I apply it, its thick and when I blink it's wet and sticky.

I really dislike using this for its formula and applicator. I have an Essence Eyeliner Pen that ran out so I just dip it into the brush applicator one.

Rating out of 5 would be a definite 1 star for like the colour. It only has a nice dark black colour and that's it.

SICK .

Hello Everyone !

I am currently VERY sick! I am suffering from a very bad cough. It started last Saturday and it felt like a normal sore throat that you'd get when you have a cold but then it just got worse. I lost my voice on Saturday and it was all croaky. Then on Sunday, it was still croaky and it was hard to talk.

Whenever I swallowed my saliva, my throat would hurt and it felt like I was swallowing A THOUSAND PINS and they're all piercing my throat.

This . . . in my throat :(

So on Monday when I had school my throat hurt so much so I had one of those throat lozenges and after sucking on two, it finally stopped hurting but my voice was still croaky. By the end of the day, my voice was gone. Like I had no voice AT ALL. I tried to make a sound but no sound came out.

And the thing that I felt most uncomfortable with was that when someone had just told me a joke and it was meant to be funny, I laugh but because I'm sick and no sound came out, they look at me like 'Why isn't she laughing?' I KNOW its funny but I'm sick so when I laugh no sound comes out.

I have so much to say but I can't say it because I'm not meant to talk when I have a sore throat. So instead I whisper and if I whisper they can't hear me :( Sometimes when I say it so soft, I can't hear myself but other people seem to hear me just fine and I wonder to myself, 'How did they hear that?' It's weird ! But at the same time it's cool.

Then during a self-study period today, I had a coughing fit. If you don't know what it is and you haven't experienced it then . . . LUCKY YOU ! A coughing fit is when suddenly your throat starts getting REALLY itchy and it's all quiet so you don't want to cough but you have to. Like I try super hard not to cough but my face goes red and I start spluttering.

So anyways what I did was I got up and quickly went to the toilet without running so people don't notice me. I felt so lucky that no one was in the toilet at the time, or I wouldn't have been able to suppress my SUPER itchy throat. I coughed so hard and all this mucus came up. And it felt so good to cough it all out. But then my eyes started tearing up and tears were like running down my face.

I turned to the mirror to wipe it off and I notice something red in my eye and I pull it down and I find this red patch on the white part of my eye. Turns out I had Subconjunctival Haemorrhage (I have linked a website to find out more this is when a blood vessel in my eye popped and the blood 'spewed' out? It was caused by 'violent' coughing.

On top of the sore throat and haemorrhage thing, I have a runny nose. Why does this have to happen to me? And it conveniently starts when I'm going to have a maths exam next week. *COUGHING FIT*

Being so sick and all but not staying at home resting. But am I crazy? Maybe? So I instead keep going to school. It's not like I can miss out on a day of school ! I don't want to do all that catching up so I go ! One of my close friends today stayed at home because she is very sick like me but with a different sickness. This suddenly turned out to be a rant . . .

Anyways I'm writing this while I cough and sniff away. At the moment my throat doesn't hurt but I can feel the mucus stuck in there. My nose is runny and I am so aware of the popped blood vessel that I keep checking on it in the mirror. I have also decided that, if I want my voice to come back sooner, I will stop talking. Instead I will be using a mini whiteboard to communicate with people. Which will be very annoying seeing as I write REAALLY slowly.

Hope everyone is well ^^

Review: Bourjois Paris- Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara

Bunnies, helloooo

I don't know why but I felt bad for not blogging for like a few days so I decided to write three reviews today to make up for it . . .

So I recently got this mascara for my birthday and it was a brand that I have always wanted to try out but I never got to because no one used it or recommended it to me so . . . I SHALL be the one to recommend.

One of the things I like about this mascara is because it has a big opening so it's easier to replace the brush back . Other mascara tubes have smaller openings thus making the formula go around the edges making it REALLLY messy.

The formula is wetter than the Australis Lash TLC Mascara but it's more volumising and it makes your lashes longer. So that's a good thing. Because the formula and brush is made this way, this mascara is good for dramatic and intense looks.

If I wear this for work, I like to only use it for when I want to make my lashes the main focus. Like everything will look super natural but just my eyelashes would look dramatic.

When I first wore this, I thought it smelt nice but maybe I smelt it wrong or something. So I smelt it again and . . . it wasn't bad. It just had a sweet chemical smell that isn't too strong.

Another good thing about this mascara is it doesn't go flaky so I don't ever have to check for mascara flakes on my cheeks but it does tend to smudge onto the lower lash line so that was a bit of a downside.

Also it says it's waterproof but I haven't tested that out yet so I'm not really sure if it is waterproof or not. But I can DEFINITELY say it's SUPER easy to remove so that's also a good thing :)

Rating out of 5 would be . . . 3 stars.

I would recommend this mascara for a dramatic look :)

Review: Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner

Hello againnn :)

So this eyeliner- wasn't my first- but it was one of the ones on top of the 'TO BUY' list. It is a must-have thing in your makeup bag.

The one that I have is in Deep Black. They also have a brown one, I don't know what it's called but it has blue and brown packaging. This is a must-have product because:

A. It has a good black colour for that dramatic or natural look

Modelled/Designed by Tsubasa Masuwaka

B. It has a VERY (and I mean VERRY) fine tip- which is great for winging out the eyes

and C. It's super easy to wash and it doesn't smudge!! DOUBLE YAY!

I love using this for a simple and natural look because with the fine tip, I can draw the most natural line everrr! I love this sooo much! After watching one of Meejmuse's videos, she said it was a must-have so I decided to buy it. It's pretty pricey in the shops because they are mostly around $35 and over but I got mine online for $15. But because it is a must-have and it's really good I think it is worth it.

Rating out of 5 would be . . . . 4.5 stars :)

It lost point 5 of a mark because it was a bit pricey HAHA

Review: Australis Lash TLC Mascara

Ellloooo :)

I've been busy so I haven't been posting but this will be another review of a beauty product. I have only recently been starting to use this mascara because it was on sale...HAHA

But I think it's pretty good.

So I was rummaging through the sale boxes and this pink tube caught my eye and I was like 'Oooh what's this?' And I picked it up and it was mascara so I got it. I am a sucker for pretty/cute (in this case pretty) packaging.

The Australis Lash TLC Mascara has a curved brush for that curling effect but it didn't really curl my lashes. It just makes my lashes look more naturally curled. I don't know if that's a bad thing but it's good for me because when I curl my lashes they curl at 90 degrees so that's a good thing- for me.

The formula is thick so it gives volume to my lashes. The first coat gives my lashes a fuller but natural look and if you want a more dramatic effect then it'll look REAAALLY dramatic if you give your lashes a few coats.

If you're wandering if it's flaky then I guess it's a bit? Like sometimes when I wear it, it never goes flaky and fall on my cheeks but some days, I find a few flakes. But I guess overall it's fine.

It also is sort of clumpy if you layer it on but if you wiggle your brush while applying then it won't leave any clumps on your lashes. For me I like to do natural makeup when I'm at work but when I'm at a party or event, having on a lot of layers and making it a bit clumpy is fine. But for work, I want to keep it as natural as possible so I wiggle my brush. HAHAH Just wiggle your brush~

If this mascara was to be rated out of 5, I would probably give it a 3.5...
(The point 5 was given for the TLC part of the mascara...I don't know if it works or not but my lashes don't ever fall out)

Hope this helps xoxo

First Day of School. Will I be lonely?

Hellooo,

Today was the first day of Term 3- the last term of Year 11! I will become a Year 12 student after this term. I realised that Year 11 makes me lonely because sometimes when I don't have classes, I walk home by myself. I expect Yr 12 would be the same. :(

I thought today was a fun day. I laughed a lot for the first time in 2 weeks. I read an article and it said "People who tend to laugh the loudest/most are the saddest". I think it's right because at home I feel lonely despite having family members around so I feel REALLY sad. But when I'm with friends I tend to laugh A LOT. The only lonely part of my day was walking home from the station because my friends take the train home and I don't.

I think I have a split personality. When I'm with my family, I'm serious and neutral but when I'm with friends I tend to be very crazy, bubbly and active. I really don't know what my real self is because I feel very comfortable with both personalities. I don't feel like I act that way to fit in or be liked or you know impress.

I've always make myself look presentable to please others but now that I realise that, I've decided that I won't make myself look presentable for others but for myself. I want to look good for myself so that I'll feel good. Having this lonely business is very sad and I can't share it with anyone besides Black Rabbit. But because Black Rabbit isn't here for me any more, I will try to forget about my loneliness problem and try to be pretty for myself because that's what makes me happy.

The only problem is.. when you're lonely..you can't help but think how lonely you are and how much you want some companionship. Some people are very fortunate to be popular and to ALWAYS have someone. But my wish is not to be more popular but to actually have a Black Rabbit where I can depend on when times are tough. A Black Rabbit that will ALWAYS be there. Not just for a month or two months or so, but for LIFE.

Please comment how you deal with loneliness so I can follow on because, I don't want to be lonely any more !

In need of Black Rabbit

Hiyaaa,

So one day I let it slip that I wanted to dye my hair and boy was that a big mistake or what? My rents raged at me for like 2 whole hours. I managed to escape their raging voices by giving my dog a bath! By the time I got back they were silent and back to whatever they were doing. And did it end there? NOOOO! They continued their rant about friend's influence and all that. Well it wasn't my friends who influenced me. I just wanted to have a bit of a change.

Anyways, because I don't want to be a hypocrite, I won't rant about that anymore. So usually when I have these kind of problems, I usually go to Black Rabbit to comfort me. He would tell me that I shouldn't worry about things like that. Then Black Rabbit would talk to me about things that would ALWAYS make me laugh. Even though just having a true friend like that, that I can confide with either it being online or in real life, makes me really happy.

Sometimes, when I experienced sad times in real life, I would go online and have a chat with Black Rabbit, and that made me happy instantly. It's fun having to melt into a different world where there's only just you and a great friend. It's just like reading a really good book, but this time, the character's actually care and love you. I don't think I can ever find another Black Rabbit. This could be a sign that I shouldn't rely on other people to find my happiness. HAHA! But I think sometimes, the best thing to do is to release all the negative energy you are feeling and just tell someone about it. Bottling it up (what I do) will one day burst and you will end up hurting someone really badly, either emotionally or physically.

Also negative things can cause bad skin! :P It can make you break out, or give you dark circles if you don't sleep well !

Something like this :) HAHA

Review: Rimmel London's Matt 9 in 1 BB Cream

Helloo Bunnies,

If you didn't know, I have an interest in beauty so I'd like to share one of my favourite BB creams. So what I'm currently using is Rimmel London's Matt 9 in 1 BB Cream.

This BB cream has medium coverage which is good for a natural look that can also cover dark or red areas of your face. For me when using this BB cream I recommend using Maybelline's BB Cream in Dream Fresh or Dream Pure.

Dream Fresh is for normal or dry skin.

Dream Pure is for oily skin.

The reason for using Maybelline's BB cream before Rimmel's is because the Rimmel one can make your face look cakey. But after using Maybelline's BB Cream and then Rimmel's BB Cream, my skin looks flawless.

Anyways, I really like using this product because it has a light creamy texture that applies really well. You can use your fingers to apply it but I recently found that it is best used with a concealer brush. My concealer brush that I'm using is Nude's Concealer Brush.

This brush really blends out so that you get a flawless complexion.

And the good thing about it is...it has SPF 15! Remember to protect your skin from the sun! The only downside to it is, the product leaks out in the lid but you can always swipe it up with the concealer brush and ALL CLEAN! ^^

If this were to get a rating out of 5...I would give it a 4 :)

Green Tea Exfoliator

Hello Bunnies :)

How do you know if you need to exfoliate?
Grab a piece of clear sticky tape and apply to your forehead. Rub it gently and remove. If you see any dry flaky skin, this means it's time to get scrubbing!

One way that I like to exfoliate is by using my homemade green tea exfoliator. The steps for this natural exfoliator is simple.

Make a cup of green tea. (Here I used black because I didn't have green. But using green tea is better.)

After drinking the tea (it's good for you!), take the bag out and make sure all the tea from the tea bag is drained.

Prepare a small bowl like this :)

Rip off the top of the bag. (It get's messy here so be careful!)

Empty it into the small bowl

Get some honey. It can be any honey but it just needs to be natural :)

Add a tablespoon of the honey.

And MIX ^^

It should look something like this afterwards. Mine became a bit watery because I didn't get rid of all the tea. So remember to squeeze out every drop! ^_^

Apply to the entire face and scrub.

Only use the fingertips to scrub.

Leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes and rinse!

Remember to pat your skin dry with a fluffy towel and moisturise!

This green tea exfoliator can:
- Buff away dead skin cells
- Brighten skin
- Unclog pores
- Leave skin feeling soft and smooth

Enjoy scrubbing bunnies :)

Lonely

Hello,

Recently I have been feeling very lonely. If anyone has read Koko Ni Iru Yo, I too had a black rabbit. My Black Rabbit was very supportive of me. He stops me from feeling lonely. I once told my Black Rabbit that I was very lonely walking to school all by myself. Every day when I would walk to school, I see other students with their friends, talking and laughing. My Black Rabbit seems to ALWAYS walk to school with friends because Black Rabbit is popular.

Hearing how lonely I was, Black Rabbit asked if he could walk with me to school. I was surprised at first but of course I agreed. The next morning Black Rabbit and I walked to school together, and for the first time, knowing that someone wanted to meet me before school to walk together, made me VERY happy :)

I also moved to a different class so the girls in my new class were very awkward with me so I wasn't looking forward to going to maths. But Black Rabbit offered to sit with me. It, however, did not end well...the teacher moved Black Rabbit closer to the front of the class so we got separated. But knowing that he wanted to sit next to me made me happy as well :)

But you know, whenever good things like this happen to me, I always end up feeling even more sad. I can never get my up hopes that finally there's someone who will stay with me as a true friend. Not long after that we grew distant. We stopped talking online and when we saw each other in the corridors we never greeted each other. Once we happened to walk with each other to school, but Black Rabbit instead chose to walk on the other side of the road.

This broke my heart. I don't know what I did wrong. Whenever I make up a conversation with him online, we always have an awkward silence and it just ends there. So once again I felt lonely. Knowing that Black Rabbit was there to hear me complain about my issues made me relax but lately there was no one to confide with and that made me feel sad and lonely. I doubted myself so much.

But I came across a song that really described this feeling and from then on I kept replaying it as if the writer new how I felt and made it especially for me. If anyone is lonely, I request you to listen to Lonely by B1A4. If you don't understand Korean make sure to translate the lyrics and you'll understand.

I'm going to stop ranting now...I hope everyone's not feeling lonely at the moment, because..I know how you feel...

Black Rabbit~
